My name is Matt Turney, my wife Kelli and I are the owners  of Turney 5ive LLC. I was born and raised in West Texas and grew up hunting and fishing the great state of Texas. I attended the University of North Texas (BA), Lamar University (MA), and Texas Tech University (EdD). I am an avid sportsman, having fished and hunted (rifle and archery). I'm an avid outdoorsman with a passion for exploring and fishing Texas rivers.

I attended taxidermy training and opened my full-time studio after learning all aspects of taxidermy from basic to advanced techniques. As a lifelong learner, I constantly attend training sessions with multiple World Champions seeking the most innovative techniques to ensure you receive the best mount possible. 

Taxidermy is a craft requiring the taxidermist to have a vision and ability to molding, casting, painting, carpentry, woodworking, and numerous other skills to meet the client's expectations and bring their trophy back to life. A successful taxidermist is one who can preserve an outdoorsman's trophy by reproducing the animals' anatomy thus creating a lifelike specimen. 

My focus is timely service and quality mounts over mass production. My focus is on a limited number of species and I accept a limited number of animals to ensure your trophy received the attention it deserves and is returned to you in a timely manner (ideally within 12 months).
